ACBA

The African CSOs Biodiversity Alliance (ACBA) is a continental alliance of African civil society organisations working together to advance biodiversity conservation, climate resilience and sustainable development rooted in justice and equity. ACBA serves as a dynamic platform for knowledge exchange, partnership building, and collective action.

CATS

The Conservation and Tourism Society (CATS) is a community-based organisation working in Livingstone, Zambia, to promote coexistence between people and wildlife. Our work focuses on urban and peri-urban human elephant conflict, where we support communities through response, prevention, and the development of practical livelihood alternatives.

CLAWS

Started in 2014 as a small research program, CLAWS became a Botswana-registered non-governmental organisation in 2020 to balance the needs of wildlife and local livelihoods. With partners and communities and through their science-based projects, CLAWS develops and deploys innovative strategies that reduce conflict between people and predators.

CLN

Since 2019, the Community Leaders Network (CLN) has united Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities through current and emerging national Community-Based Natural Resource Management (CBNRM) associations across 14 Southern African countries. With its head office in Namibia, CLN serves at least 13 million community members, amplifying their voices and advancing advocacy from local communities to national, regional, and international levels.

CONNECT

Conservation of Natural Ecosystems Trust (CONNECT) is a Botswana-registered, non-profit trust whose main objective is to secure ecosystems through an integrated and holistic approach to wildlife conservation, leveraging science and empowering communities and other stakeholders to inform ecosystem and project management.

Conserv Congo

Conserv Congo is a prominent civil society organisation dedicated to protecting nature and fighting wildlife crime in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). Based in Kinshasa, with key offices in North Kivu and ex-Katanga, Conserv Congo has established itself as a powerful force in environmental conservation.

CPC

CPC is an Angolan conservation organisation working to strengthen the country’s response to wildlife and environmental crime through institutional support, legal strengthening and cross-sector coordination. It works closely with government agencies and other decision-makers to support inter-agency collaboration, improve national responses to environmental crime, promote effective conservation policy, and build the systems, partnerships and credibility needed for long-term impact.

Game Rangers International (GRI)

Gonarezhou Conservation Trust

The Gonarezhou National Park is managed as a co-management partnership established between the Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority and the Frankfurt Zoological Society. Built on the back of a strong relationship developed over nine years of support by FZS for Gonarezhou, the Gonarezhou Conservation Trust is directly responsible for the management of the Park for 20 years and became fully operational on the 1st of March in 2017.

GKEPF

The Greater Kruger Environmental Protection Foundation (GKEPF) was established in 2016 in direct response to the alarming number of endangered animals killed by poachers in the Greater Kruger National Park (GKNP) region – an area that encompasses more than 20 million hectares of unfenced wilderness.

IQ Wild

IQ Wild is a South Africa-based not-for-profit/PBO, working across conservation, environmental security and rural development. Through information-led approaches, stakeholder engagement and conservation-linked economic opportunities, it supports ecosystem protection and more resilient rural livelihoods. In Maputaland, IQ Wild partners with the Tembe Traditional Authority to link environmental security, ecosystem restoration and local economic development.

Kwando Carnivore Project

The Kwando Carnivore Project aims to conserve large carnivores through applied research and human–wildlife conflict mitigation.

It conducts research on large carnivores and collaborates with local authorities and communities on threat reduction strategies, including conflict mitigation, traffic calming, and public awareness initiatives.

Mozambique Wildlife Alliance

The Mozambique Wildlife Alliance delivers international-standard conservation services in partnership with ANAC and regional stakeholders to support wildlife, communities, and habitats across Mozambique.

The Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism

The Ministry’s mission is to promote biodiversity conservation through the sustainable use of natural resources and tourism development for the maximum social and economic benefit of Namibian citizens.

Niassa Carnivore Project

The Niassa Carnivore Project has taken a long-term, committed approach to conservation, working in the Niassa Reserve since 2003. Its primary focus is the African lion, while also working to conserve all carnivore species in the reserve.

The project employs a predominantly Mozambican team and is committed to hiring and training local residents, providing scholarships for advanced education, and mentoring young Mozambican conservationists.

Proactive Wildlife Protection Trust

Proactive is a Zimbabwean-based organisation working to counter the illegal wildlife trade through information-led investigations and law enforcement capacity-building. In close partnership with the Zimbabwe Republic Police, Proactive strengthens intelligence gathering, coordinated enforcement and tactical response to help prevent poaching and disrupt wildlife crime.

Victoria Falls Wildlife Trust (VFWT)

VFWT is based in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, in the Victoria Falls National Park. We are located in the centre of the Kavango-Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area (KAZA TFCA), which is the world’s largest trans-frontier conservation area comprising 5 countries and 520,000 km2 of protected parks and forests, game and wildlife management areas and communities.

Wildlife Crime Prevention (WCP)

Based in Zambia, WCP plays a crucial role in the global fight against wildlife and environmental crime. The trafficking of illegal wildlife products and the illegal timber trade constitute serious, organised crime conducted by networks operating across borders in the Southern African region.

Wild-Link

Wild-Link works primarily in Botswana to deliver community-centred, evidence-based solutions that improve land-use planning and livestock systems, strengthening coexistence between people and wildlife while unlocking sustainable livelihood benefits.

Ulinzi Africa Foundation

Ulinzi Africa Foundation is East Africa’s first non-profit focused on ranger welfare and remote areas. It currently concentrates on preserving the Tana Delta ecosystem, a UNESCO–RAMSAR site and Key Biodiversity Area. Its vision is to transform the Tana Delta from a security-sensitive and poaching-prone area into a safe and thriving ecosystem for both people and wildlife.
